IN MEMORY OF BILL TEEGINS
This website, from now on, will forever be in tribute to Bill Teegins, the sports director for KWTV Channel 9 in Oklahoma City. Teegins, the play-by-play broadcaster for the Oklahoma State University men's basketball team, was killed along with nine other people in a plane crash on Jan. 27, 2001 on the way home from a basketball game in Boulder, Colo.
Teegins, a seven-time Oklahoma Sportscaster of the Year, was a reknowned baseball fan and his affinity for his beloved Minnesota Twins was well known by those in OKC. He was a walking talking Baseball Encyclopedia and could quote the most inane statistics and most obscure player records at a beckon call.
Baseball Todd personally rates Teegins as the best TV sports anchor he has seen. Teegins, who died at age 48, will forever be missed by those who
heard him on the radio and TV and by those who just loved him as the incredible person that he was. Thanks, Bill, for making the sport of baseball and the game of life a better tradition. Baseball Todd and others will forever be indebted to you for your contributions to the game!!
MAY HE REST IN PEACE ON THE FRONT ROW!
